I know nothing about Minnesota, in the area because my husband had a business meeting, I used Yelp to help me decide on breakfast and I was not disappointed. Busy, loud, casual diner, if you have little patience or just in a hurry this is not the place for you. I was seated in the bar area and part due to hunger the other was 1 server in this large area but once he got to me, it was worth the wait , Jon S suggested I get the sandwich messy that's how he likes his and I thank him for the great service and recommendation, there was a young man who came by a few times making sure I was pleased. Well I am and was and if I ever return to this city I know where to have my meal .

We had a big group of nine and showed up around 11am on the Friday of the recent holiday weekend. Not a surprise the place was crowded and we had to wait for a table. But the wait was less than 15 minutes. Hurrah! The place was very lively. The menu is huge and includes breakfast and lunch items. Too many tempting items to choose from but I did decide to go for the Hog Heaven BK sandwich with bacon, ham, Swiss, and egg. Very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the waitress did a great job keeping things moving since we had somewhere to be. Prices were typical for a place like this not cheap but not too bad. Thumbs up!

Stopped by Hen House Eatery for brunch on a Saturday and boy was it busy! Very popular destination for breakfast, even for downtown on a weekend. If possible: get a reservation! While you wait though, you can get a refillable coffee from the coffee area and later add it to your same tab. I ordered the foxy Benedict on the recommendation of our server (yum!!) and we got a cinnamon roll to split (they're big). Very fun and lovely atmosphere! Just a bit of a wait.

Great breakfast/brunch spot with good gluten free options. I enjoyed the seasonal menu with a pomegranate mimosa and tiramisu (gluten free) pancakes. Bartender served me quickly and efficiently and I loved the decor and quotes across the restaurant. Very cute spot!

Excellent, classic American breakfast. It gives off 80's diner, in a very good way. They have all the American classics that you would want plus a few non-traditional items. Huge portions, especially considering you're downtown. The hashbrowns were very good. They had some kind of seasoning that gave them like a orange hue. They were delicious. We had the country fried steak. Very good. Sausage gravy was nice. Classic eggs benedict was delicious. They do use ham instead of Canadian bacon. California benedict was nice as well. It had bacon, tomato and guacamole. Delicious. Both had lots of hollandaise sauce on them to. Everything was reasonably priced. Service was quick. We got our food in less then 10 minutes. Paking on the street was easy.

This place is phenomenal! It's nothing fancy; just good food. We stayed at a hotel only a couple blocks away and came for breakfast twice on our trip over Memorial Day weekend; the Twins were playing a day game on Sunday, so there was a long wait list when we arrived at 10:00, but they have a lot of tables and turned them over quickly. The first visit I ordered the Rancheros Tostadas and added the carnitas -- I honestly think this may have been my favorite meal of the weekend, despite being a tiny fraction of the price of our dinners. The chips remained crispy to the last bite despite being beneath the beans, eggs, cheese, etc.; crispy chips always seems to be a tough thing for restaurants to accomplish in dishes like this, and the avocados were just right, too (another potential challenge for many restaurants). The hash browns were really good; soft and cheesy on the inside, crispy on the outside! The second visit I ordered Babe's Eggs Benedict; this was also excellent. I knew I'd like the carnitas from the previous meal, but the question mark was the jalapeno cornbread that is used instead of an English muffin or other base. I usually think corn breads can be too dense and dry, but not this one! The texture of their cornbread was almost like a cupcake; light and fluffy. It was also pretty sweet, which worked fine because of the other savory parts of the dish, but somebody expecting heat from the jalapenos probably isn't going to find it. Similarly, the Cajun hollandaise didn't have quite as much of a kick as I'd have liked, but it was still very good. The Red Eye Roster (bloody Mary), on the other hand, had plenty of heat! Overall, I was glad that the second meal lived up to the hype after our first trip.

Great find while I was in town for work. There are lots of fun things to look at and a very cool bar-top thru the middle of the bar. Service was great and accommodated my requests. The Bloody Mary was great and comes with a small beer. Love that! For breakfast, I ordered the crab cake Benedict, but I'm not a poached egg fan, so I asked for my eggs scrambled. Really good and great portion. They have a great selection, and I'm glad I tracked this place down for a casual breakfast.
